Ganadores de los Latino Book Awards, premios literarios entregados en Nueva York. – Foto Kirk Whisler

En un concurrido evento se entregaron la noche del jueves 190 premios literarios a editores y autores latinos residentes en los Estados Unidos y en el extranjero. En su quinceava versión la organización liderada por Eduard James Olmos viene a Nueva York a participar en Book Expo America BEA y hacer la entrega oficial de los codiciados premios en la sede del Instituto Cervantes.

The International Latino Book Awards, es promovida por la organización Latino Literacy Now fundada por el actor Edward James Olmos para promover la lectura y rescatar a las comunidades latinas del analfabetismo.

La periodista Ana Fuentes, la escritora ecuatoriana Edna Iturralde ganaron varios premios literarios en diferentes categorias, al igual que Villegas y Editores de Colombia y la escritora argentina Mariela Dabbah. En este año se puede apreciar el incremento en la participación de libros publicados por las universidades de los Estados Unidos.
